DAY 1: Maun
You will be met upon your arrival at Maun airport and transferred
to your lodge. Accommodation is in en-suite chalets/rooms –
bed & breakfast. (dinner, drinks & any other extras
are for your own account). You are free to spend the rest of
the day at your leisure.
DAY 2 to 3: Okavango Delta
After breakfast on Day 2 you will be transferred to Maun airport
for your scenic charter flight into the Delta. Flying time approx.
20min. (Please note there is a strict luggage weight allowance
of 15kg per person in soft bags only on all charter flights
– no hard suitcases).
Alternatively, water levels permitting, you can transfer by
boat up the Boro River to your camp in the delta.
Two nights at Gunn’s Bush Camp (inclusive
of all meals & activities - excluding drinks)
Gunn’s Bush Camp is a secluded private campsite on a palm studded
island in the Okavango Delta, overlooking Chiefs Island in the
Moremi Game Reserve.
Camp facilities include a restaurant, cash bar, shady campsites,
game viewing deck, swimming pool, flush toilets, and hot water
showers.
Accommodation: 2-man dome tents on platforms equipped with bedrolls.
Shared ablution facilities with hot water showers. (bring
your own towels & toiletries).
Activities: mokoro (canoe) excursions exploring the delta waterways
and walking on the islands accompanied by a guide.
DAY 4 to 5: Moremi Game Reserve
After breakfast on Day 4 you will take a scenic charter flight
to Xakanaxa airstrip in Moremi Game Reserve. There are no activities
on this last morning at Gunn’s Bush Camp.

Your guide will be waiting on the airstrip to meet you. From
here you will game drive to your camp site and pitch camp.
The mornings and afternoons are spent game driving when you
can see lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lechwe, waterbuck,
and sometimes, the secretive leopard.
DAY 6 to 7: Moremi Game Reserve
After breakfast on Day 6 you will pack up camp and move to a
different area of Moremi.

We spend the days driving along the river bank and adjacent
floodplains, one of the best places in Africa to see rare wild
dog. There are large herds of elephant that come down to drink
in the late afternoon and other usual sightings include zebra,
giraffe, lion, wildebeest, warthog, and dozens of bird species.
DAY 8 to 9: Savuti – Chobe National
Park
On the morning of Day 8 we strike camp early and game drive
north into Chobe National Park and camp at Savuti marsh.

This area is popular with ageing bull elephants. The largest
are around 6 tons with tusks up to 100lbs. There is also a large
resident pride of lion in the Savuti area.
DAY 10 to 11: Ihaha – Chobe National
Park
We leave Savuti marsh in the early morning on Day 10 and drive
through dense forest and fossilized sand dunes to the Chobe
river front area.

After making camp we take a short game drive to catch the sunset
and join the elephants as they come down to the river for an
early evening drink, before returning to camp to prepare the
evening meal.
This area of Chobe is famed for its large breeding herds of
elephant, buffalo, lion, and numerous bird species.
DAY 12: Kasane
After a morning game drive and breakfast/brunch we break camp
and head for your lodge in Kasane. Accommodation is in en-suite
chalets/rooms – bed & breakfast. (dinner, drinks & any
other extras are for your own account). In the afternoon you
will go on a boat cruise on the Chobe River – a highlight of
any visit to Chobe.
DAY 13: Onward connection or transfer
to Livingstone/Vic Falls
After breakfast you will say goodbye to your guide and camp
assistant. The lodge will provide a transfer to Kasane airport
in time for your onward connection. Alternatively you can transfer
to either Livingstone or Vic Falls. |
